Yesterday was the big event, finally got to Excell after taking the scenic route through London (thanks to the Circle, District & Docklands Light Railway being closed) and was through the doors by 10:15. Dropped my stuff off at the Frothers table, said a quick Hiya!, and headed out to shop.
My project is to create a Barbarian army for Fantasy Warriors. Before Salute I had 10 (yep, 10) mini's to put to this venture. Yesterday I bought somewhere in the region of 80 more, list is to follow but they consist of Maidenhead, Celtos, EM4 (old Grenadier saved from obscurity)Wyrd, Spyglass, Heresy, and more.
I also plan to start a painted vs purchased log. It seems appropriate to start it from the date of Salute (kind've a financial year for miniatures) as I have no idea what I've already bought since 2008 began.
Unfortunately I neglected to take my camera with me, but will glean some pics and link to others as they get posted on FU-UK.
The Frothers table was manic for most of the day, with many "civvies" joining in using forum members' gangs. The diversity of units brought in for the day was astounding, from giants bugs and a flamethrower wielding goat, to Elvis and a corgi suicide-bomber (complete with bomb and aerial strapped to it's back!).
The games were superb all around the hall, and it was great to catch up with old faces, and to meet new ones!
That's all for now, back soon with more (and some pics too).
Stay lucky,
Rik

Cult of Steders!!
First post and pics of the gang I have made up for the Frother's table at Salute. The theme is Mad Madge, Beyond the Millenium Dome, a post apoc game set in the recent past, present or near future - I haven't worked that bit out yet, but who cares, it's an excuse to blow the crap out of each other!!
The gangers on foot are Copplestone sculpts, some from his own range, and others old Grenadier ones still available from EM4. Their ride is a converted LRDG Chevrolet from Chieftain Models (Crouchie at CM started to pimp the vehicle and then sent it on for me to finish - top man!).

Here's the whole gang, although I may add to or reduce those on foot, haven't worked out the points cost yet. Below are some pics of the Chevy Deathmobile (or Lawnmower bait as the Goat Liberation Front have mockingly named it!!). There's still some stuff to do before it goes to war, but it's essentially finished

Anyway's, that's probably the last post for months, we'll see ;)
